ATC Update

You may remember this link from February, where I revealed the ATC I had made as part of the Cerificate in Papercrafts Student Forum ATC Swap.

I finally received my card in the swap from the lovely Judith and a lovely bonus from the equally lovely Jennie.  Judith posted some lovely comments about the ATC on the student forum - I'm so glad she liked it!

I'm pleased to show you the lovely ATCs I received:

Pink Fairy ATC with a lovely matching envelope from Judith

And the lovely bonus from Jennie

Fairy ATC - Revealed!

Well, the other lovely ladies in the Student's Forum ATC Swap have already posted their ATCs so I figure it's now a good time to post mine...

Sorry for the size - but I wanted to make it extra large so you could see the detail properly.  I used an image from thegraphicsfairy.blogger.com of this needle fairy and an actual needle to give a 3D feel.  I embossed the wings with Holographic Embossing powder and used Glossy Accents on the blue advertising lable.  I used a beading needle to backstitch the frame, adding seed beads at various intervals.

Hope you like it!

Heart Wreath

Hello Everyone,

This is the third piece that I will be submitting for Unit 1 of Certificate in Papercraft.  Please have a look and let me know what you think!

Sarah xx

Foam mount board, covered using pages from an old Mills and Boon book and attached with a PVA, water and Acrylic Paint mix.  Can you see where I got up to on night one, before finishing off on night two with a mix that included more paint??  Ooops! :P

Lots of paper flowers, with glitter glue, brads and silk flowers attached - ready to be added to the heart base.  These were all individually cut out and took an age!!

A close up of the back of the wreath - to show how the words still show through the PVA / Acrylic mix.

Close up of the bottom half of the front of the completed wreath

The completed wreath in full.  The banner says "Warm Hearts Welcome Here".

Enjoy!  xx

30th Birthday Surprise Trip Journal

The completed ATC is still under wraps for the next couple of days until I've sent it off.  In the meantime, please see some photos of a journal I've just completed / started for my bf's birthday trip in May.  He won't find out about this until Valentine's Day - but as he doesn't visit my blog all is good!

Sneak Peak

I have recently started the Certificate in Papercraft and am really excited to be getting along with it.  As part of the first unit involves submiting three papercraft items I have joined an ATC swap organised through the Students Forum.  This will be my first ever swap of anything!  The theme has been announced and it is fairies.

So, after a bit of trawling through some free clipart websites I have found the following images and I hope to be able to make something up out of these:

Both of these images are really speaking to me, so I may do more than one ATC.  I have only ever made one ATC before in my life so I guess I'm on a steep learning curve!

Nan's Scrapbook

At the end of last year, I decided I would like to make myself a scrapbook but realised that I had very few photos of my whole family and few from my childhood.  I spoke to my Nan who told me to help myself to her photo boxes.  In with the boxes, I found an old, battered and yellowing album that had been neglected for years.  So I decided to give these treasured memories a bit of TLC which resulted in the following scrapbook that I gave to Nan for Christmas...

Hope you have enjoyed seeing some of the pages from this gift.  It was my first ever go at scrapbooking and I am really pleased with the way it turned out.  And, most importantly, Nan loved it  :)
